32nd Vesoul International Film Festival of Asian Cinema
32nd Vesoul International Film Festival of Asian Cinema
27 January to 3 February 2026
We are delighted to announce that State of Statelessness has been selected for screening at the 32nd Vesoul International Film Festival of Asian Cinema (Festival international des cinémas d’Asie de Vesoul) in Vesoul, France. The festival — one of Europe’s most prestigious and long-standing platforms for Asian cinema — runs from 27 January to 3 February 2026, spotlighting independent and art-house cinema from across the continent.
Founded in 1995 by cinema enthusiasts Martine and Jean-Marc Thérouanne, Vesoul has built a reputation for championing films that expand the horizons of world cinema, introducing international audiences to cinema from East, South, Southeast, and Central Asia. The festival’s highest honor, the Golden Cyclo Award, honors exceptional achievement in Asian film and has celebrated groundbreaking works and auteurs over its three decades of history.
This year State of Statelessness will screen in the Cinema from the Roof of the World section — a curated program that brings together cinematic works connected to the Himalayan cultural and geographical regions, offering powerful insights into identity, memory, landscape, and cultural continuity.
Vesoul Screening Schedule
At Vesoul, State of Statelessness will be presented at the Majestic 3 cinema on two occasions:
Thursday, 29 January 2026 — 14:00
Tuesday, 3 February 2026 — 10:00
Each screening offers festival audiences the opportunity to see this ensemble work in a context that celebrates cinema from across Asia and to engage with films that resonate far beyond borders and categories.
We invite everyone interested in world cinema and Himalayan-rooted narratives to experience State of Statelessness at Vesoul — and to explore the rich and diverse program the festival has assembled this year.
